Holocaust Memorial Week 2011 focuses on the Pink Triangle, the persecution of gay men by the Nazi regime, without losing sense of the origin of the term 'Holocaust' and the significance of the Holocaust for the European Jewry.
Exhibition: Portraits for Posterity

Venue: Lakeside Theatre exhibition space, Colchester Campus
Portraits for Posterity by Matt Writtle is a unique photographic project. With individual portraits of survivors of the Nazi Holocaust living in Britain today who still bear witness to the crime of the century, the exhibition both celebrates their contribution to British society and commemorates the millions who perished.
The exhibition will be opened at 1pm on Monday 24 January by Holocaust survivor and Essex Honorary Graduate, Dora Love.

The score is based on poems by Holocaust survivors, including Paul Celan, Tadeusz Borowski and Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel and other internationally acclaimed writers. The performance treads a fine line between the horrors of genocide and the optimism of the human spirit.
